Climbing the water tower with others to paint it and having to stay up there in the cold of winter for a long time while the police waited below in the parking lot. The others got caught, but I laid down on the catwalk and was able to climb down later after the police left. My hands were so cold that I had to look at the rungs on the ladder as I climbed down to make sure they were actually on the rungs because my hands were numb from the cold!

Graduated from Va. Tech in 1975 with an English degree and a business minor; worked in various sales and marketing positions for about twenty-five years, went back to school to get my teaching credentials, and have been teaching for the past eleven years; singing in church choirs, small ensembles including the Richmond Concert Chorale, the James River Singers, weddings, funerals, at baseball games, etc. I am currently singing in my church choir, River Road Church, Baptist, and am in my thirtieth year as a member of the Richmond Symphony Chorus. I teach high school English at the Academy at Virginia Randolph, which is the alternative high school for Henrico County Public Schools. I also umpire baseball games for 9-year olds through high school, some college, and some minor league pro games. I have a 27 foot sailboat in Deltaville, Va. that I have owned since 1980, except for about six years from 1988-1994(I sold it to a guy and bought it back when he wanted a bigger sailboat). I have never married and have no children. I do have a cat name Claus. We live in a townhouse/condo called the Overlook, which is located on the north bank of the James River in downtown Richmond right across from the Virginia War Memorial and next to the Lee Bridge.
